The UK National Reference RT-QuIC Testing Laboratory The UK National Reference RT-QuIC CSF Testing Laboratory at the Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences, Institute for Neuroscience and Cardiovascular Research, The University of Edinburgh, provides a national and international diagnostic service for the analysis of CSF RT-QuiC. Important Notice The UK National Reference RT-QuIC Testing Laboratory cannot process CSF samples without the accompanying CSF RT-QuIC Request Form. Click the button below to download the CSF RT-QuIC request form.The laboratory is open to receive samples via Stores, Monday-Friday 9:00am- 3:30pm. Samples that arrive out with these times will not be accepted on site. Once a CSF sample has been sent, please e-mail Graham Fairfoul and Dr Marcelo Barria stating an approximate date and time for the arrival of the sample.From July 2025, RT-QuIC results will be reported electronically only. Please ensure the RT-QuIC request form includes the responsible consultant’s and the laboratory’s email addresses to ensure timely delivery of the report.
